Mission Statement
The Baca County Historical Society was reestablished to preserve and share the stories that define our community—beginning with the reprint of the 1983 Baca County History Book. Interested in a Copy?
Survey of quantity of 1983 Reprint books desired
Our mission is to safeguard the rich heritage of Baca County through the collection, documentation, and preservation of historical records, photographs, oral histories, and artifacts.
By honoring the past, we aim to inspire present and future generations to understand and appreciate the people, events, and traditions that shaped our county. Moving forward, we will:

- Complete the reprint of the 1983 history book and publish Volume II, expanding the record with updated family histories, overlooked stories, and newly discovered accounts. Submit your stories here:
- Submit your Baca County History Volume II Stories and pictures Here. This also serves as a permission form for us to include your story in volume II. We are attempting to limit Family stories to 700 words.
- Submit your Broomcorn Stories and Pictures Here. This also serves as a permission form for us to include your story or comment in the Tulsa Jail Broomcorn book.

- Preserve historic materials through digitization, archival care, and public access initiatives.
- Encourage community participation in collecting and sharing personal histories, photographs, and documents.
- Partner with local institutions—including schools, libraries, and museums—to integrate Baca County history into education and community life.
- Create public programs and exhibits that make history accessible, engaging, and relevant to all generations.
Our purpose is clear: to ensure that Baca County’s story is not only remembered, but continually told.
