For outdoor enthusiasts in Baca County, the upcoming International Sportsmen’s Expo (ISE) in Denver offers a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the latest trends, products, and experiences in outdoor recreation. Sponsored by Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW), the event runs from January 9–12, 2025, and promises to transform two sprawling convention halls into a vibrant hub for adventurers, families, and anyone passionate about the great outdoors.

The expo is more than just a showcase of new gear—it’s a chance to connect with experts, learn new techniques, and discover hidden gems across Colorado. Visitors will have the opportunity to preview cutting-edge equipment for camping, fishing, hunting, and off-roading while attending seminars from seasoned professionals who share their expertise. Families, in particular, will find plenty to enjoy, with interactive exhibits and activities designed to engage attendees of all ages.

Children will delight in the stocked fishing tank, where they can experience the thrill of catching and releasing fish under the guidance of helpful staff. Meanwhile, adults can explore the latest RVs and camping gear, test their shooting skills, or get up close to live raptors in a fascinating display. For those curious about Colorado’s natural resources, CPW’s exhibits offer an educational and engaging look at the state’s outdoor heritage.

One of the standout features of the expo is CPW’s dedication to educating attendees about important topics like boating safety and invasive species prevention. At the Boating Safety Booth, visitors can try their hand at the new boating simulator while learning about life jacket safety. Nearby, the invasive species exhibit demonstrates innovative boat-cleaning technology to help protect Colorado’s waterways. In the Fish Hatchery Trailer, attendees can gain insight into how over 90 million fish are raised and stocked annually, with aquariums showcasing both cold-water and warm-water species.

For those with questions about outdoor activities or regulations, CPW’s Info Booth will be staffed with knowledgeable officers ready to help. They’ll also provide brochures and resources to help plan state park visits and share updates on Colorado’s hunting rules. Additionally, the Colorado Clays Shooting Park exhibit offers information about one of the state’s premier shooting ranges, just 30 miles from Denver, where visitors can learn about opportunities for trap, skeet, and sporting clays.

The expo runs over four days, beginning Thursday and Friday afternoons and continuing with extended hours on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets cost $16 for adults, while children 15 and under, as well as active military members with ID, can attend for free. Visitors looking to save can download and print a $3 discount coupon to use at the box office.

For residents of Baca County, the International Sportsmen’s Expo is more than a showcase of outdoor culture—it’s an invitation to engage with Colorado’s rich natural resources and outdoor opportunities. Whether you’re an avid adventurer or simply curious to learn more, this event promises to inspire and equip you for your next journey into the great outdoors.
