Kelly Roy Remling Obituary

August 22, 1944 – December 30, 2021

Kelly Roy Remling passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on the morning of December 30th, 2021, in Fort Collins, CO at the age of 77. He is survived by his beloved children, Scott Remling, Leila Mulder and Maggie Sauder; their spouses, Suzanne, Dan and Monty; his grandchildren, Susan, Zoe, Paul, Tanner and Chase; Step Grandkids, Piper and Mason; his two sisters, Ulavon Niemuth and Anita Bishop; and many other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Lee Davidson Remling, who he was married to and loved deeply for over 35 years.

Kelly was born on a farm near Springfield, Colorado on August 22nd, 1944, to Roy Raymond Remling and Flora Lavaun Cottrell, who preceded him in death. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1962 and earned a bachelor’s degree in business from CSU Pueblo.  Kelly spent the majority of his career as an insurance agent with the Farmers Insurance Group in Colorado Springs, where he thoroughly enjoyed working with and becoming friends with his clients.

Kelly loved fishing, hunting, golfing, spending time with his family, going to all his kids’ sporting events, watching his grandchildren grow, listening to classic country, watching the History Channel and reading (he loved a good sci-fi book).  Some of his favorite memories were of the many trips he spent white water rafting through the Black Canyon on the Gunnison River with great friends and family. He had a great sense of humor and you could always count on him for a silly joke or one liner (both good and bad).  Kelly made the world a better (and funnier) place and will be greatly missed by many.

His memorial service was held by Maltbie Funeral Service (265 W. 8th Avenue, Springfield, CO) at the First United Methodist Church in Springfield, Colorado (901 Colorado St.), on January 15th, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.
